Hey all, just a quick question about Punto Mk2. Headlights, i know normal headlights(2 twists on the control stick) and full beam (Pull/push on the control stick) are defferent bulbs. What i want to know is, which types of bulbs are fit for the the normal headlights? (e.g.H1,H4,H7)

Also, whats the maximum legal wattage for normal headlights?

Thanks :D

Hi mate,

On the Mk2's it varies, some are H1, some are H7. I have even seen some that have 1 H1 and 1 H7!!!! Best way is to check your existing bulbs to determine which ones you have.

55w is what your after.

Hope that helps,
Alan

In the past i replaced one of my normal headlight bulbs with a H7 halogen at 55W... In theory then a H1 will work too?
I will just go for the H7 then :)
thanks!

H1 and H7 bulbs have different fitments, so you couldnt fit a H7 in a headlight that should have a H1. If you have replaced them with H7's before, then stick to the H7's. You can get higher wattage bulbs, but to e honest, they dont make that much difference.

The manual is sometimes wrong in this case, as for some strange reason there is two types of bulbs used in Mk2 headlights. Manual states H7, many have H1... dont know why.

Its always worth checking.

Says H7 for all. Plus, if you've had a smash or replaced your headlight/s at any point, they may have changed. I've even come across some with 1 H7 on one side, and 1 H1 on the other! Nightmare! lol

The bulb also states the name on it... the H7's were in mine... I've got some lovely new bulbs now, make a hell of a difference on dark roads with no street lights etc... For just £10 a pair aswell!!!!
BRILLIANT!
