Punto mk1 -97 side mirror broke. I already have a replacement part, but I'm having problems changing it. I already removed the rubber cover and the ring that keeps the adjustment stick in place. However, I had hard time removing the plastic cover. I tried to remove it by pulling it with a screwdriver but in vain. The plastic just kept benting and I stopped before it would have cracked. There must be a simple trick how it can be removed but please let me know how. Repair manual is of no help. Thanks.

Just pull it its the only way try and get a screwdriver in there and lever it out inside you will find 3; 5/6mm allen bolts undo them jobs a goodun!!!!!

yeah it should pulloff pull from top then you will feel where there is a bit on the back that gets a bit stuck try to pull from as near to that as possible, if it brakes a new one is not much money

Can I continue in this thread as I think my problem is related to this.
Mine is fiat maria which has been a victim of vandalism. Its manual side mirror was broken ( I mean the holder). I bid on ebay and got a used one for 99P plus P&P.

Today I try to replace myself. I can remove the plastic cover easily from inside using a flat screwdriver. But I have no idea how to disassemble the adjustment button (covered with rubber) and one end of bundles of control steel strings. They seem to be fixed too much.

hi there i would assum its the same as the punto you pull of te rubber part you shold then see a round large ring of metal with the adjustment lever poking through the middle. thus ring un screw normll it will have notches in it and if you stick a screwdriver against notch and tap it will move. once that id undone all you have to do is remove the bolts that bolt the unit to the door nomraly alan keey bolts.
