Posts: 99 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Broken plastic on key the plastic that is used to connect the key to key ring is broken, hence keeps falling off. should i just get a new key cut ? ... so that i have a key with a stable bit of plastic on it i cant afford to just carry the key round incase i lose it.

This depends on whather your car is a mk1 or a mk2, if its a mk1 the key cutters should be able to copy the code from your key. However if its a mk2 you cant get a coded key from a cutting place you have to go to fiat and pay around £100 for a new key. |

![]() | Re: Broken plastic on key you can just drill a hole in the key to attach the keyring, just be sure to avoid the chip, mine has a hole in the top left of the key, quick fix till u can get a new key.

![]() | Re: Broken plastic on key yes it does, would be advisable to tell em its chipped, but usually a clued up locksmith will know what ure talkin about. jst make sure u tell em its a mk1 cos mk2's are painful on the wallet to get a new key.
