It sounds similar to what I've got on my mk1, but on the drivers side. Is it right beside the windscreen rubber? I'm planning on peeiling the rubber back out of the way and getting in there with some proper rust converter stuff and then priming/painting it using an airbrush to minimise repair size. Gonna be a pain in the nuts.

hmmm i thought puntos where galvanised? iv noticed that on my 2b...inside the door at the top there is like rust bubbles appearing.i dont know why there though:S.

it's common on w reg and around that area

some had there winsscreens changed before delivery to do with some water leaks i heard and the rust starts as the tool to remove the windscreen scratches the paint in the wrong hands ie inexperienced windscreen aprentises and such and yes they are galvonised thats why ut has taken the rust 8 years to travel a few mm to come from under the seal

had it been a ford you would have a convertible buy now

i'd personally treat it with a bit of kurust before you repaint it mate.

@ littlepip, It's not Fords that have the reputation for rusting

you forget we mot cars and it is the fords that fail on rusty holes all the time we have welded one fiat in the last 3 years and about 20 fords so your not fooling me

anyway ford dint start galvanising till 2003 fiat started fully galvanizing cars a j reg with the tipo 1991 is that and they were partially protecting them before that even

Sorry lilpip, wrong on that bit. Think you'll find Fiat started FULLY galvanizing ALL models at M-N reg (y) Atleast it was only then that they started galvanising the doors on the mk2 Panda's (y)

i think he means that was when fiat first started fully galvanising a car. and then it filtered down. though i thought all tipos were galvanised from the start of production in 1988!

I know all the Panda were fully galvanised from Panda number 1, but they never done the doors except on the very last Panda's, hence why the doors always rooted away :(

well doors bonnet and wings actually and top half of shell not galved only half way up lol

my uno was the same rusty doors but solid cills lol

and yea not all tipos 90 91 or somewhere around there is it and that was the first fully doors wings bonnet everything my grandparents had one for 10 years a 1.4 ie and it got banged up eventually buy an old fogy in his 90s in an auto metro on the wrong pedals and the bits were paint came of a substantial amount of the car were indeed not rusty after a few weeks before it was writen off fiat wanted to stamp the reputaion out there and then as the tipo was an imprtant car for them it had to be good and in it's time it was a fantastic car with a chasis that lived on for many years in alfas and fiat alike

exactly why i want a bravo for that chasis
