where is the chip on a blue key is it in the blade within the blue plastic

or is the chip in a small hole underneath the fiat badge on the key ?

It should be inside(the blue plastic), i know there is nothing under the badge (mine fell off)

I dismantled mine, in an attempt to replace a dead battery. Didn't work, it now simply doesn't work.

The chip covers 70- 80% of the inside of the key.

Think it's in the blue plastic bit seen a post somewhere on here about someone who's blue plastic bit was falling off and the chip was in that, not the key (I figure from what I read). Definately nothing under the badge bits - both my keys don't have them as they fell off

It's in the blue plastic bit. Had to dismantle a key to get it out when I had remote start fitted to my old MK2 sporting.

Can we confirm what's being asked here.

I assume we're on about the immobiliser chip, and not the great big remote locking chip

if it helps pin it down it must be towards the 'key' end of the plastic head as the previous owner of mine drilled a new keyring hole in the plastic head after the end bit broke and they obviously missed the chip as it still works.
