I've noticed that both my rear reverse light are not working I have changed both bulbs, but still no joy. i have also checked the connections between the bulb housings.

it's not too safe driving around without reverse lights, so i wanna get um fixed a.s.a.p.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried checking the reversing switch, the switch that activates the lights wen u put it in reverse gear, havn't got a punto but it should be somewhere in the gear box.

Can anyone confirm where it is? If not the haynes manual should not it somewhere.

Checked the fuse? Second thing I would check after the bulbs.

checked the fuse and it's fine. Could anyone tell me where exactly the switch is located for the reverse lights and is it easy to replace?

open the bonnet, and its on top of the gearbox with the only wiring connector going to it, bridge the connector and see if the rev. lights work

Where abouts is the gearbox located under the bonnet & what is the easiest way to access it. (im a bit of a novice you see)

Isn't the gearbox underneath the car? You know, directly below the gear linkages and the gear stick

gear box is found in the engine the gear stick is connected to it by linkages runing from under car to engine area. not exactly sure were the one is you looking for as dont have yoru car but open bonnet and look down either the left or more likely the right hand side of the engine bay. there will be a large metal mass low down inthe bay extending back towards the back of the engine bay area. you should see one little wire running towards it and stickin into the top of teh metal.
