hi have prob on my punto sporting 52 reg. just died on me yest and the revs was really low. takes ages to start and wen i put foot on accelerater it cuts out. aa man said the code error was p1135. brother in law is a machanic and he had a word wiv a friend of his who works for fait and its the accelerator position sensor. any ideas???

your throttle does not use a cable, instead there is a sensor on the pedal that tells the ecu what position the pedal is at. that sensor is the accelerator position sensor. the ecu uses that signal to decide how it should move the butterfly valve in the throttlebody. if the accelerator position sensor is faulty then the ecu doesnt know when you are accelerating.


however, that is besides the point because your problem sounds nothing like an accelerator position sensor fault. also, p1135 is not for the accelerator position sensor. p1135 is a lambda sensor fault code, and your problem also sounds like a lambda sensor fault, so i am confident that is what your problem is. it will be the first (closest to manifold) lambda sensor in the exhaust system.

right peeps, bit of a update, changed the sensor which the aa man told me and its still the same :bang:, so brothering law phoned a couple of contacts and the timing belt cud have slipped a tooth. it looks like its a realy old belt tho.so we towed it down to his and he is goin to see if the timing is out slightly. hopefuly that should cure it. so fingers crossed now.lol

P1135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Low Voltage

It's got nothing to do with your timing belt or you throttle position.
I'd check your o2 sensor as Jug has already mentioned.
