I have a 2003 fiat punto and since I have purchased it from new it has leaked. The leak itself is only going to the passenger footwell only but it is now starting to get on my balls as when it rains really badly i have to remove the passenger seat and lift the carpet to start drying it out. If anyone has had this problem and knows of a repair for the problem then any help is much appreciated

Cheers in advance

William

Sounds like the same thing i had, but on the drivers side. Is it any active by any chance?
Mine was a dodgy door seal, it had come away so water jus rang down and leaked through into the footwells and behind the front seats too.

What do you mean by active?

The leak is only in the passenger footwell and does not run into the back of the car at all, was reading on here that some puntos have problems with there bulk head welds. Can anyone tell me that this is a truth or someones imagination got the better of them.

My 2000 Punto leaks when it rains, but into the drivers footwell. I was told of the problem with the bulkhead welds, i don't know if this is definately the problem on mine, but ive exhausted most other possibilities so it looks likely. I was told of the bulkhead problem by one current Fiat Technician & someone who used to work on Puntos, so i believe it's fact that some Puntos do have this defect.

As far as i know, the bulkhead welds problem only affected W (and possibly X and Y) reg models so therefore yours may not be leaking for the same reason. Also, all the models i've seen leaking before have water in the drivers footwell, not passenger side, which makes me think your car could just have something like a dodgy door seal, as these are meant to affect Mk2 Puntos aswell.
