General Is it ok to do an oil change?

Just a auick question peeps,

Is it ok to change the oil on car which is still under warrenty. I have a 52 plate punto mark 2 and i want to do an oil change. It has done 5k since the last oil change was done by fiat.

If i change the oil myself does it validate the warrenty?

if you use a fiat make filter and selena oil there id no way they can tell, proubaly get away with diffrent oil aswell
