dear forum members

I have a fiat punto mark 1 1999 1.2s. for the past three months or so the gear stick rattles from side to side rapidly when doing around 45-50 mph. it does so less when accelerating around these speeds. The problem goes when doing over 50mph and from 0 to 45 mph. why is this happening? Any ideas please
