so today i spent the day on doing a bit more on the car below are some pics of the work ion progress and ill try to get some pics of wat i got done up tomorow as its toooo dark to picture now !!!
below : windows are tinted and boot is being smothed
below: strated on the side wings .. i think the car had been scrapped by a truck or summin major dents and scratches
below made a start on the centre console getting rid of the indented stereo at the bottom and the heater bit just the spped control to remail temp set to hot all the time and on the window setting thing..
below: used to be realy messy where i routed in a power cable and another for the amp also fitted police strobes and 1 of 2 front fog lights cables all nice and tidy +a new battery
below: measured up air filter and cut to corrdct size to fit on carb .. + crankcase breather thing main air filer sealed tightly with a bit of silicon (heat rated) though need to get a connector for the carb breather as it whistles a bit if u listen carefully .. plus polished what i think is the engine (jking i know it is but its small 1.1l)
below: tinted indicators just smoked em will get angel eyes again .. but for now it looks better ...
also not pictured yet .. new off side front wing ... primered boot (though after primer notice a few impuritys) removed door locks and filled (welded plate behind)(left boot lock) removed badge on bonnet (hammerd back platted and smothed) bonnet almost done just another layer of filler to make sure its fixed propper fitted green leds in footwell + upratted all bulbs .and new wippers
all in all i think it was a very productive day and with a bit of work the car will get there despite looking gay fopr a while .. but wat ya gunna do !!!

yes mot and tax till august ;-( thougjh it will go through easily just need a nr side tyre as its on space saver atm
edit: also i fitted remote central locking to the car ^^ hence i was able to remove locks .. remeber this is the 55s BASIC model

I assume you mean fitted remote 'poppers' not c/locking.
I hope you don't have problems gitting in, in the event of a battery failiure. Have you/are you got/getting a fale safe?

no no handles are still there locks gone remote c/locking !! left the lock on the boot just incase but i will fit summin on there soon wen i next get a day off .. (next monday)

more pic up tomorrow may use my lunch at work (halfords .. dw im not making a ripspeed car) to fill the impuritys on the boot and finish the bonnet !!!O right, my mistake, though the handles were going also

I like the way you're sorting everything out at once. Yes it looks a mess but as long as you can see the potential (I can) then it's all progress in the right direction.
Are you going to respray in the original 'swift red' or go for some other colour?

nah i am mixing a custom colour at work. and yeah there is potential seeing as how i only get one day off a week that day for me is manic as there is always stuff that i neeed to do so some times i can spend 20 mins on the car or in yesterdays case ALLL day.... i does look crap but it will get there !!!
Looks like a lot of effort is going into this.
Only thing is.. that cone filter is in one of the warmest parts of the bay on top of the TB- the best place for it on that engine is behind the battery

yeah ive notice a small incress in response from fitting direct to the carb but i know its getting hot gunna get a few cold air feeds ran to it at work today..
heres more pics of work ive done past 2 days ect enjoy !!! oh and a spider
below spider in work the other day the pic just doesnt do it justice .. i was hairy and BIG :devil:
Below: boot de badged .. smothed off and primerd .. will need another skim as there is a minor low point but i want it perfect !!!
Below: the impurity ios that small u cannot even notice lest you have a PROPER look and feel!!
Below: removed centre console and started to build a frame for extra insert cut out stereo shape to fibre glass more out soes i can fit my alpine all singing and dancing unit !!
more pics to put on later i gotta go to work and image shack is being slow and ff upload wont upload my images !1 very long

scrap yard .. 50 quid checked it all out had been in an crash but not registere a write off or claimed for took it drivable home had tax, mot rang my insurance got a policy out quick no car to replace/get rid off see my thread on how it was stolen !!
the nice thing is my last punto was practically finished wen i braught it with a blow head gasket.. a xheap fix if you can do it your self .. this time round i can do wat i like how i like .. so im enjoying it despite the fact im driviong around in a skip on wheels for the time being

this is a sick thread, i have it bookmarked so i can watch the progress, always keep updating, im doing a few bits to my punto atm, getting it ready for when i can drive in august, not as much work as your doing but still got alot of bits to do, ill make a thread soon!
plus im liking what your doing with the center console, making it how you want it etc.
