I've seen all the threads on tinting rear lights and i'm ready to tint mine, should look good. Anyway everybody says to use Savage spray but where the hell do you buy it from! Cant seem to find anywhere that sells it, not even the internet. Any help would be appreciated!

PS. Painting my calipers soon aswell, does the hammerite metal paint work? also my mk2's orange so wot colour would u go for? Might sound stupid but i think white would be sweet!

sorry mate dont know where to get the paint from but, there are blck tinted ones for sale on ebay, and they look mint, wont look as gd if you do them yourself,

i am also painting my brakes calipers, my car is blue and black goes very well, white will get extremly dirty with brake dust, road grit, etc. and will go black anyway :D but the hamerite works very well beacause it can stand temperature, or engine paint is another 1.

Cheers for the replies! yeh i know white wud get filthy so mite have to go for black. Red would just clash, blue would just clash, so just go for black.

Yeh thats the stuff! did u do ur lights urself? can u see the lights through them enough cos urs look pretty dark?

nah mine where done by a pro off ebay.

u can see the lights as clearly as any other car(y)

(which reminds me that i may ned to take a pic of them with the lights on)

Yeh if u cud show us a pic, just to persuade me to do tint them! Good job....and ur reflectors are hardly tinted at all which is good! ive heard u can buy these led bulbs which shine brighter aswell. my cars orange so the red and the orange of the light cluster just looks naff. need a bit of tintage!

i think in the case of yellow it looks good both ways there a a few exceptions ie white . whereby not tinting looks better but on a wast majority of car tinting looks good ie balck yellow green

Hmmm, Disagree personally, but then again it is all down to personal oppinions (y)

So does tinting them cause them to emmit less light? Is this not dangerous?

yeah its the slightest (and i mean the slightest) amountr off light that is lost i think as well being dark wen the light does come on it stands out more as its brioght on such a dark area !

Yeh good last point bein on a darker background but u can buy higher intensity bulbs that obviously shine brighter n more intense...so cancels out the dimmin effect of the tint. Plus my cars orange, so looks ****e with red lights and the different orange of the indicator, everythin just clashes, so tint for me!

Yeah someone at my collage. Used tights to tint their rear light and btw it look quite good. But when i do mine's i would do it Professionally. Or at least try 2
