hi ppl

each time i use my brakes in the few last meters i can feel the abs getting into action.
like this rrrr in the pedal.

im sure its the abs & its not normal.

ideas r welcome

It sounds normal to me(you should also feel the pedal vibrate while the abs is active )

I have the same problem on my hgt. not to worried about it though

I don´t see that as a problem!!(you should feel the brakes on my 300ZX when the abs comes on, feels like your leg is about to get crushed )

its not normal & why:
1.i never had this untill amonth ago.
2.theres no sense in abs as im not puttin that much pressure on brakes that might lock the wheels.

its aproblem im sure of it.

think the others missed tour point? your say you can feel the abs kicking in when there is no need for it and only when you first drive car.?

dont have any idea what your the problem is but just hough i would say that lol and does sound like problem. not dangerous but dam annoying i would imagine

Book the dealer to get a diagnostic.

if u were 2 drive apunto hgt with 50 2 70 shot of nitrous (up to 220bhp gain) my guess would b that u would like ur brakes 2 work for u....



we tryed 2 diagnose it with "sun" sys' but we fail 2 comunicate with abs ecu.

my guess its not electric problem..

then again il have to go to f.i.a.t(fix it again tony) deler

It sounds to me as your have a faulty magnetic strip on on of the wheel bearing, or a piece of metal stuck to one. Either clean the magnetic strips, with a non magnetised object, or replace the wheel bearing. The only way to check which one to to scope out the pattern on a oscilliscope.

i had this on my HGT but recently changed discs and pads to red dot also replaced the brake fluid and now my brakes work perfect no judder and perfect feel

also stop lot quicker ;-)

3 monthes later still carry this problem

checked the sensor & replaced one worn bearing - no result.

i was told its the abs ecu/cylender.
could it be anything else? as im on 16i wheels 195/45
but i never had this problem when i got my wheels

Sounds like warped disks to me.

then why magicly the problem goes away when the abs fuse is out?

argh its supposed to do it when you take fuse out abs not working so it wont pump so no strange feeling in pedle

so its not warped disks...

I am having a similar problem with break's making a knocking noise even with light use. One the ABS light appears on the dash the car drives fine.
