I am thinking about purchasing a 54 Active to replace my worn out S Reg 60S and I have read that it is illegal for new cars to be sold without ABS after the 1st July 2004. However, they are still listed as an optional extra on the Fiat website and I am aware of people who have been sold cars since the 1st July who have been told that it isnt necessary to have them?

Is this the case?
