is the petrol tank on a standard punto the same as a gt turbo fuel tank? my mate is in need of 1 for his turbo.

no mate there different!! its a bumer because all the gt tanks rust so there like hens teeth 
. mine had rusted through at the seam and leaked over half of tank but had to buy another car for spares and even that tanks rusty buts not rusted through so have wired brushed it and undersealed it!!

I wonder why it is different? cos the tanks are shaped to fit the body and sharing the same shell would tell me that it wouldn't be that far off. just the fuel pump inside would be different

I was told by a local fiat breaker and fiat garage that the layout is different as it can hold more fuel!
I dont know exactly as ive only taken a gt 1 off as mine was rusty and when enquiring for another one i asked the same questions and that was what i was told!!
