hi all

I have a problem with strong petrol smells coming in the car from the engine.
I think i have located a cracked pipe on just to the left of the fuel injection unit.

Until I get it to a garage, do you think black tape would suffice as a temporary hold??


Any thoughts appreciated

Hi mate,

I doubt tape will hold it, the fuel is under fairly high pressure, plus petrol is a solvent so will probably ruin the "stick" of it anyway.

You could use a bit of rubber hose cut down one side to slip over pipe and then secure with a jubilee clip at each end. May help slow it down enough to get you to the garage.
