Alreet people, well in a couple of month i get a decent sized amount of money and i want to spend this on my punto 60s 5door. Im not really just meaning in the way of audio i mean exterior, engine mods and other interior changes and i was wondering what people would recommend. At the moment it really is kinda basic apart from the audio side no power steering, central locking or electric windows all of which i would like but dont know how so any help on that would be appricated.

So bascialy just tell me what you would say were the best things to do to improve it. Budget it around £1000.

Cheers
Andy

Go to a scrappy to get all the bits you want, you'll save a mint!

Jon.

What bumpers have you got on? maybe swap for the SX
as suggested go to scrappy, sx bumpers, gut the doors for cards, window motors and central locking, how about a centre console too

im with dave on this 1 m8 sell up(y) then u can add your car money with your other money and get a higherspec punto with all the electric and powerstering as standard (elx, sporting 1.2 16v/1.6 8v,1.4gt )(if u got the money) :D but it does make scense though(y) if its ant help there is a black 1.2 16v sporting round the corner from me he only wonts 850 for it as hes got 2 many cars its in mint condition not be abussed tax & mot and its done 70k oh and a cd player lol

although with the added money from your car, you'd be in mk2 territory ;)

the problem with cheap mk2s is that they are crap. they are either decent spec ones that have been crashed/ragged/abused, or they are poverty spec ones, which i wouldnt wish on anyone. a good mk1 elx/sporting will be sooo much better than the low spec mk2 8v's.

I agree with Dave and Mike
I don't like the color and i belive is a bit hard to drive without assisted steering
but I really like the look of that car

Has anybody got an example of an mk2 to buy this time next year given that ill be 18 only next year with insurance and all that. Also my car seems to not like hills could be my bad driving skills but does an mk2 of similar power perform better?

a mk2 8v has less power than a mk1 75 (60-65bhp, compared to 75bhp) and they feel slow.

same engine, but the mk2 has emissions restrictions. Same with the 16v - 80bhp compared to 85bhp on the mk1.
