Hi Punto gurus,
I have problem with Punto 55 1996. The cylinder 2 does not get spark at all. I changed the spark plugs. It didn't help. I tested the HT lead of cylinder 2 by plugging it into the ignition coil which gives voltage to the cylinder 1 and plugging old spark plug into the spark plug end of the HT lead. Then I checked that the spark plug gave good sparks when starting. So the problem is not in the HT lead of the cylinder 2. Have you had same kind of problems. If yes, had it be problem with the ignition coil or problem in the ECU or something else? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Dave!
Yes the problem was in the coil. I bought a new one (98€ i.e. 64,5£) from Fiat dealer (I coudn't find any from other spare part dealers). It was interesting, though, I measured resistance of the primary and secondary windings of the faulty and the functioning coil. In both coils the resistance of the primary windings were about 0,4ohms and the resistance of the secondary windings were about 7,3kohms. In either coils there were no leakage to ground. So the multimeter measurement did not reveal the broken secondary windings of the faulty ignition coil. It was also interesting that the cylinder 3 got decent spark. After installing the new coil the engine is running smoothly again.
