I am new to this forum today, so any help would be much appreciated please!
I am experiencing huge problems with my X Reg Punto (1.2, 8 valve) :-(
Bascially, last week I couldnt get my car started, so the AA diagnosed a new starter engine. I took it to a mechanic I knew, who put in a starter motor(from a scrap yard). When I went to drive off, I noticed the power steering had gone - it was very stiff. The mechanic thought a fuse had gone. So I drove it around for a few days, intending to get the steering sorted on the weekend. However to my dismay, I broke down again on Friday, the AA then diagnosed a new alternator. Yesterday my partner's father got an alternator from a scrap yard it seemed to work fine for a minute or so, even the power steering came back! but then it blew! He reckons my starter motor could be faulty.
Any ideas on this please????
