Hi guys,

A while back I purchased the following aftermarket RCL kit for my 97 Punto.

http://www.in-car-stuff.com/shop/falcon-phaser-remote-central-locking-upgrade-p-32.html

It took me a while to find the central locking wires in my Punto but I eventually found them down by the driver's kick panel. I know I have the right wires because when I put them to ground, it locks and unlocks accordingly.

Now for the confusing bit...

I followed the "instructions" as best I could as per:

http://support.in-car-stuff.com/files/VMOD55 - Falcon Phaser Instruction Manual.pdf

But I cannot get the system to work, no matter the configuration I try.

Sometimes the unit doesn't respond at all, sometimes it "pulses" for 30 seconds locking and unlocking my car continously, or sometimes it'll keep my car locked, even when I unlock it by hand!

So... 2 things fellas.

Firstly, does anyone know how to get this to work? Or suggestions how to get it to work? Your help is very appreciated.

Secondly, failing the above, can anyone recommend a better kit, preferably about the same price or a bit more if it includes an alarm too?

This forum is a haven of knowledge and ideas and I look forward to hearing what you have to say!

P.S. Can somebody also help me locate my indicator wires in a better position than buried inside my steering column where I can just about see them now...?

what im gonna say might help, i've just fitted a remote start alarm to my car and all is working fine, thats with no previous experience and just attacking my car wires with a stanley knife , i think the alarm didn't cost much off ebay and if you're not fussed about remote start it'd obv cost a bit less

that's what i installed, taken me a while to do but i havent been working on it non-stop and the crap weather's not helped

hth :)

Well ,the seller isn't very chatty, but I ordered it anyway.
I'll try to make some time next week to put it in and I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok, I got the kit to work.

But I still need to know how to find these indicator wires!
I know they're blue and blue/black and I know they're 'supposed' to be on the steering column but can anyone help me further?
Are they on the left, the right, tied up, covered in fabric? I just cannot find them!
Pictures would be brilliant but a more detailed explanation than 'on the steering column' would be much appreciated.

I've cut the wires for the indicators off from this RCL box as I'm waiting for the new, better system to arrive but I'll need to know for when I fit that. Please help, somebody!

I was looking at going for that one mate, wb if you get it and how good it is yeah?

Just had a go at fitting it and gotta say it was a breeze.
Fitted siren, remote CL, shock sensor, microwave sensor, door trigger and FINALLY found my indicator wires.

I haven't tried to fit the remote start yet, seems much more complicated that it probably is but I'll leave it for now. Does anybody know what a "high coil" might be??

All in all, I'm very impressed with it.

well i ordered a genuine fiat one and now have all of these wires to fit.... thinking cheaper kit may be easier....
