having trouble wiring the central locking, i've tried different combinations and cant get it right, the 2 wires need to be connected are white & white/black, one is 'signal off' and the other 'signal on' according to the alarm instructions, any idea on where these need to be connected to tap into the current central locking system??

ta in advance :)

haha god i've cut so much insulation off the wrong wires now, i'll check the colours, but i think i've connected them up as i've been told before from the connection with the red clip and nothing apart from the indicators flashing happens

yeah i've tried connecting the wires to those wires but the doors still dont lock or unlock, it depends on the cars central locking system how the alarm is set up, i know you told me in a post ages ago it was negative trigger
any idea what signal on and signal off means, which one is lock & unlock?

Gutten tag!

Right managed to track down some Aolin info, however it was in german and my GCSE german skills are somewhat faded away!! Anyway. The white and black wire from the control unit should be the UNLOCK signal and the white wire should be the LOCK signal. TThe yellow and yellow and black wires both need to be earthed Which i think youve already done)

just been outside and connected it just how it should be, and no luck, still wont do anything more than flash its indicators at me, and the blue/purple and white/green ones are deffo the right wires because i touched them together by mistake and the doors tried to lock,

does anyones have any ideas on why the alarm wont speak with the cars c/l?

Hi mate,

Its almost definately down the the alarm itself rather than your wiring. The yellow and and yellow and black wires that you have earhted are the ones that provide the negative trigger signal to the unit (ie earthed) So if you were say to have a positive trigger system, then they would need to be connected to a +12v source if that makes sense.

I would start by checking that these are eathed properly. They look ok from your photo, but it may ne that a bit of the wires insulation has got in the way or something simple like that and it is preventing it from earthing correctly. If you have a multimeter, then you could check that you are getting continuity between earth and the ends of the white and white/black wires when you arm and disarm the alarm (however you need a fairly good multimeter with a good response time, as the signal only lasts about half a second which wont register on some lower spec multimeters) You should be getting a momentary earth signal to the LOCK wire when the arm button is pressed and momentarily earth signal to the UNLOCK wire when the disarm button is pressed.

The LOCK and UNLOCK wires in the cars wiring loom are DEFINATELY the correct ones, i have checked in fiats wiring diagram and in my own Mk2. It defiantely sounds like either a fualt with the alarm control unit itself, or a problem with the two yellow wires that are earthed!

Dont give up!! lol

it works :D, it was a bad earth so put it elsewhere and it locks, just now the alarm decides to go off when i unlock the car, haven't plugged the siren in yet so dont know for certain but the indicators keep on flashing, all i need to know now is what colour the 'charge indicator' or 'oil pressure indicator' wire is, and if anyone understands this remote start circuit

..oh and how can i wire in the siren from the engine bay? :)
