Hi,
This might sound stupid, but where have fiat hid the glow plugs on a Fiat Punto 1.9 JTD??? Not 100% sure where they are, could anyone shed any light or even better upload a picture??? Would be a great help

will try and get a pic uploaded, but they are right at the back, and you will need a very deep socket to get them out. Before you get too involved, I hada lot of starting problems with my JTD, and bought a new set of glowplugs. When I saw how inaccesable they were, I didnt change them. I did find that the contacts on the glowplug fuse had tarnished (It's one of the large fuses to the left of the main fuse block in the underbonnet fusebox, cant remember which one). Cleeaning this reversed all my problems. This was about 3 years ago and ive never had any starting problems sine (my punto is now on 155k miles, on it's original glowplugs, the replacement ones I bought are still in my toolbox somewhere)
This may not be the answer to you, but if if you have starting problems, it may help, before i cleaned the fuse connections, I would have to crank it so much, that the battery was virtually flat before it would fire up

Hope this helps

Yeah I've heard that they're right bitches to change especially if you don't know what you're doing, I think I read that 3 of them are ok to change but the other one is really hard to get to.

Thanks for the replies, yeh i we thought they were the ones right at the back. I mite just leave them for now or try get it in the garage.

i dont know much about orange cars and my fiat 1.9jtd wont start at all a little spiral orange light is flashing

miss type sorry not an orange car. well the car wont start at all could that be the glow plugs, it has recently had a recondition engine in and at first it started but missfired and now wont start at all

Glowplugs wouldn't make the car misfire but can stop it from starting, the glowplugs do nothing once the engine is started.

when the reconitioned engine was fitting the car start but took a while then was sloggy to drive and was missfiring, took it back to the garage who supplied the engine and they have no idea what is up with it. it is very complicated but fiat said the only fault coming up is the glow plugs but i have recently had the ecu supposidly virginised which i am now advised they cant even do that on a mk2
