anyway, can anyone tell me when the face-lifted MK2 came out i.e. what reg??
because im looking to upgrade my MK2 to a MK2B...and have found a nice example, but it seems to old to be a MK2B
the car im looking at is on an 03 plate...but im sure the facelift didn't come out untill 04??

according to wikipedia; Mk2b was 2003 to 2005; didnt read any of it, just found that header

it's not exactly the most trustworthy of sites, it might be 2003 for some contries and 2004 for others, just use it as a guideline to be honest

that will be one of the ones from reeds trading, they was stuck on a boat that had a fire on a diffrent deck, they was headding for japan, but as boat was salvaged to uk they just sold them all off to reads trading, it took a few years to sort, but they are all ok cars i have one from the same batch

ours is on a 55 plate, we had one of the last ones he had.
they are all classed as british cars not imports or nothing like that

Has said is a abarth one , i think you can buy it and replace it .

your local Fiat dealer may stock the abarth gear knob, mine does/ did about 4 month ago when i rung up enquiring about one

The first mk2b's are 53 reg's

thanks for all the replys, even if it did kinda get hi-jacked about gear knobs...which it quite handy because i think i might like one for my MK2 now =P

I don't think im going to get the MK2B now, i'm just going to stick with my MK2 and put the windows down when it gets hot...oh how i wish it had air-con =(

i belive the mk2b came out at 53 plate and there was very few 55 plates. im sure that if you find a mk2b on 03 they have proberly upgraded a mk2 to look like a mk2b

the mk2b punto came out in early 2003, and theres lots of 03 plate mk2b's about.

the interior was overhauled before the release of the mk2b, and in 52 plate cars onwards (when the new trim levels were introduced) they came with teh new interior design (slightly different door pockets, different sound system etc etc)

2b's were released on 53 plates but there were some early registered ones that were out on 03 plates. Newest mk2b i have seen was an 06 maybe a 56 plate cant remember which.
