ok guys about an hour ago on my way ome frm work i was driving along n pulled in, to let a car past. i didnt do anything unusual but as i drove away i could her this deep loud clicking noise, and now it wont go away! it seems like its in a pattern with the wheels, ie every time the wheels have a full rotation once it clicks! ive had a look around the car for anything loose that cud be catching the wheels but i cant find anything! its comin from the front of the car and to the left but i cant be sure! any help as to what this is would be great! thanks,

Ash

ps posted it here because there isnt a forum for cars in general, ie repairs...

Try jacking up the front left wheel and the front right wheel, try turning the wheel, if it makes a clicking sound still the cd joint/ driveshafts are gone, it nowmaly works out cheaper to buy a recon drive shaft and swap your old one in, youl probebly have to drain the oil on the gearbox so may aswell put in new gearbox oil aswell

Good luck

if it does end up being the outer cv joint. there simple to change as it is so it isnt really neccesarry to replace the whole shaft if you dont want to. but in my opinion could be a stone/bit of FOD. jack up and take wheel off and spin the disc to see if anything is catching in your brakes

its annoying put last time i worked on my car i accidentley bent the stone shield in bechind the disc and re-assembled everything only to find out moments later that it was catching as i was driving down the road and looking like a right plonker.

ok i think it might be something to do with the gearbox although im not completly sure.

It doesnt make the clicking noise when revving in neutral and it doesnt make the noise when on the accelerator:rolleyes:

so in other words, it only make the noise when driving without push the accelerator :bang: any more ideas?

and do the above still aply?

regards,

Ash.
