Hey there,

Could anyone tell me how to stop my punto mark 2 tailgate rattling, cos it gets on my tits! It rattles when i have my sub and on but also as the car has been lowered its a lot stiffer and also its got 17s as well, when i go over bumps it just rattles.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

wind out those rubber stops on the corrners of the tailgate, that will shut it up.

is it the tailgate itself or the trim inside?

Try using Dynamat to sound deaden the boot pannel

i had similar problem on my mk1 punto.

i filled the box just inside the boot pannel where the wiper enigne is full on of ivanhoe sound deadening, the pretty much shut it up.

but the wiper still rattled a lot, so i glued it a bit temporarily before i but a smoothed tailgate.

now i hardly get any rattle.

I think the rattle is both the stuff inside around the rear window wiper motor and the tailgate its self.

All joking aside check the rear screen they have a habit of not being glued in very well and they rattle,otherwise take off the trims and start checking

I have found that my tail gate rattles because the hook at the bottom (the one bolted onto the car itself) was not greased. If I sat in the back while my girlfriend drove, and put my hand against the bit covering the lock, the rattling stopped. Once I got some grease and applied it to the hook, there was peace and quiet.
