i have a w reg 1.2 8v punto,

had a few problems over the last few weeks, it started with the battery going flat.

so i was told to change the starter motor but that didn't work so i changed the battery which seems to have fixed it.....................BUT NOW!!!

when i start the car i need to keep my foot on the accelerator to keep it running, as soon as i take my foot off it dies!!!

any ideas???????????

hello mate i think its your alternator happened to my mates golf two weeks ago as soon as a power packwas taken off the battery the car just cut out hope that helps mate

thanks for the thanks lol if you can get the battery charged up then stick it in and take it down to halfords for a alternator test have you tried jump starting the car???

the old battery jump started but this is a new battery it turns over fine it just doesn't start and just found out from the gf that the alternator has been tested and it said it was fine! if i keep my foot on the pedal it runs fine its just when i take my foot off!!
