i snapped my key off in the ignition barrell!

not the brightest idea i know but it was an accident

does anyone have any adbvice on this situation

or has anyone encounterd this before and has any advice?

be really grateful if people would get back to me!

Cheers

well if you got the spare key it should not be bad, try to get the snapped key out!! lol its better than getting all new barrels and keys, use picks, pliers, never tried taking the barrel apart on that car but on a clio, we just played around with the lock hitting it, throwing it about and heating it for the metal to expand and the the snapped bit came out! if not get a mobile mechanic out see what he can do hope this helps.

Though Changing The Ignition And Locks Is Sooooo Easy On The Punto So Either Way It Wont Be A Problem And You Could Get Them From A Scrappy For Less Than £20. Just Dont Put Your Steering Lock On Or You'll have No End Of Pain If You Opt To Try And Remove Whats Left In There.

fair dooos like i said never done a punto one, what about codes? red key?

doesnt efect it as far as i knoe granted ive not done it on a newer model but so long and you dont disconnect the battery nothing should be effected anyway ... just make sure when connecting the new ignition that you connect the negative/earth (THE BLACK ONE) first otherwise you may blow A/some fuses .. but even then there shouldnt be any problems
