any one know if a 04 punto engine would fit in a 2000 punto. stick lnform me if your on here or anyone else.

not quite

the only difference is emissions regulations at the time

meaning the size and shape of the ports are different n the head

both engines have mpi but the 00 have grouped the 04 have sequential

and finally 0 has crank sensor only 04 has crank and cam or phase sensor

no mk2s have spi only mk1 i'm afraid

the engine it's self will both run fine with each others ecus but but you will have to swap some covers and cam pulleys for the extra phase sensor

yes rocker cover for the sensor

the inlets would have to stay with the engine but either throttle body could be bolted to them and injectors could be swapped as they are different

i asume exhaust manifold will have changed too just need to have a look at some really and see if there is any difference in the shape of the ports
