Although I am having an oil leak problem on my V reg 2000 Punto, I was thinking about fitting a K&N Air Filter on it.

But my question is, is it worth it?

If so, does anyone has one on their car? Any improvement in Fuel consumption etc etc?

Thanks

David

If anything your mpg will go down with a K&N on.

Hate to but in on the topic you made but have to ask, what would you guys recommend for a 1.2 16v?

Is this ok?

What is the small blue pipe for?

Also, do you have to tell your insurance about the mod?

Can you have an MOT test done with it on?

I have a K&N on my punto 1.2 16v and all i get is grunt when driving. Also the throttle cable had made it's mark on the filter.

From the response from guys on the forum regarding the K&N, I won't be buying one. But I will be buying a Ford Induction kit. :)

any help for me guys? i thought i would get the K&N one as it was just about affordable for me but as above, it doesnt sound to great.

Correct me if im wrong but arent they roughly £170, if im right what would you suggest for me thats cheaper?

The focus kiz might be under certain cirdumstances be better than a standard airbox. But it does sit as high as a K&N mushroom filter. Heat soak is virtually the same when bonnet is closed. Advantage of the Focus kit is that it has some torque gain over K&N.

The GSR induction picks up air where it is cold and still. Also it has the pipe diameter reduced for torque improvement.

The Focus induction can only be used on 8v FIRE engines and the GSR Punto Mk2 kit does cost only £144 for ff members and not £170.

The 1.2 16v is £162 for ff members-

Id definitely say 'get a focus induction kit' whilst saving for a GSR ;)

For 40 quid delivered you can't complain, especially when they give a bit more torque than the K&N :D

can i just say, after speaking to someone i found that the focus kit does fit on the 16v and i shall hopefully be ordering one later. I'll let you guys know how it goes when i get it.

i dnt like k&n dey r ****e and also i preffer GREEN perfomance filter like one i have fitted to my mk1 8v sounds great and noticeable difference in torq and throttle response
