Hey ppl, I Just got a Punto 1.9 ELX jtD on a v plate
It didnt have the sub in the boot, but I guessed it wouldnt so I bought one on ebay.

Thing is I can see the iso wiring and x2 speaker wires but only connections on the sub for the ISO chunk. so my questions are these:-

1 - do I have to wire these 2wires up as well?
If so where?

2- can anyone provide me with a guide as to how to fit the Fiat sub on the left in the boot? I.e. what needs fitting where (there are like 5 spaces for nuts on the sub but I cant quite make out how to fit this)

many thanks
Mike(y)

Its the same for pretty much any car tbh.

Mine is wired up like this diagram.

on my mk1 i have it running through the front pannel, going into the plastic with the eletric windows etc., and running through the carpets. Always make sure the power cable is on one side, and the phono(blk and red) are on the other side of the car. :)

I ahvent included the ground in this pic, because its pretty self explanatory.

I cut the cables going from the original back speakers and connected it to my fly 6x6s :) hope this helps a little

He's wanting to fit the fiat sub, not a system

but to do the sub you need the two rear speakers installed (or atleast the wiring there.)

Then you need to mount the sub into the boot. There is a metal bracket to do this - if you dont have one, you'll need to get one from the scrapyard. On puntos with the sub installed, there are fixings on the car that the bracket bolts to, but on ones without, theres just holes where the fixings would be. To mount the bracket in this case, you need to remove the rear quarter inside trim piece (3dr... not sure how you'd get to the back of the holes on a 5 door...) and use bolts, locking nuts and washers to mount mthe bracket to the car. Then bolt the sub to the bracket. Theres a mount at the bottom of the sub aswell. Again a nut and bolt job, but you may need to drill through the boot floor. be sure to put plenty of sealent around the bottom of the bolt to protect the bolt and hole from rust.

Now for the wiring. Use the connector for the sub. if you dont have one, scrapyard job. try to cut is so you have atleast 6" of wire from the connector to play with.
There is an earthing point for the rear lights under the carpet on the lefthand side of the boot lip. This is where the ground (black) wire needs to be connected to.
The red+white wire needs to go to a constant live by running the wire behind the rear quarter trim, under the sill trim and up to the front of the car where you should be able to find a constant live somewhere. use an inline 10a fuse to protect it. The grey wire needs to follow the same route but goes to the remote power-on wire in the back of your headunit.

The orange wires wire directly to the left rear speaker, and the light blue to the right.
