Ok bit of a strange one (04 plate Punto):
The other day a neighbour knocked on the door to say I'd left my hazard lights on, when we got out to the car they'd stopped but he said they'd been on for 5 minutes since he got in from the shops. (noticed them on the walk up the street)
Then the other morning at about 6am, I heard a car alarm going off - regular horn beeping. Stayed in bed, our car doesn't have an alarm... it lasted about a minute.
About half an hour later it happened again and I was awake enough to realise it was coming from outside our flat - i looked out the window and the hazard lights were flashing in time with the horn. I pressed the remote central locking fob (I fitted an aftermarket one, it only connects to the central locking relays - no alarm or anything) to unlock the doors and it stopped. I locked them again and everything was fine.
I don't understand what's happening... as far as I know they don't have an alarm as standard and I haven't fitted one...
I can't find the manual as it's the wife's car and she's probably left it at her dad's or something (she had the car before we got married.)
Any thoughts?
