i think it was in the auto express but i was gutted to see that the punto mk2b was number 99 :O .moved up from 100. surely the mk2 and mk2bs cant be known as that bad for reliability. who agrees? and to annoy me more they had a big picture of a mk2b yellow active sport like mine :) haha. awell my baby has been fine so far:) * touchwood still* haha

For some reason, theres just *something* about the Mk2 generation punto that puts me off wanting to own one. Cant quite put my finger on it.

To me, it literally looks like the Mk1 punto, but with a "newishr" dash.
But as the Mk1 is an old car, it feels like the newer Mk2 bits have just been stuck on, if you get what I mean.

mk2 was something like an 80% redesign rather than a fresh sheet of paper also its the same size car by the same manufacturer and uses the same engines and suspension type so its not gonna be that different

us mk2 owners accept the fact that some of the mk2s are rubbish, becuase if you have a decent one, all you need to do is enjoy the redesigned suspension, better interiors, more options, better handling, and more refinement :)

oh, and they look a lot better in the right trim

Lets face it, the mk2's are cheap and nasty cars. Everything about them screams cheap and poor design. Even the wishbones! It's like they're designed to break down because of the way their fixing points are orientated against the natural flex of the wheels!

these statistics are worked out buy the amount found broken down at the road side buy the aa or some such similar service so in theory the more of a certain car you find broken down the lower it will fall in reliability tables right

so scene as fiat sold more of the mk2 puntos than any other manufacturer has in that segment of the market of course there are going to be more broken down it's simple there are more of them

they sold the first million of them in 13 months after launch

as for styling the mk1 and punto grande are better as they are desighned buy the master Giorgetto Giugiaro

the mk2s were in house at fiat hence the rubbish looks

but saying that in the right trim the mk2s can actually look very appealing i wouldn't mind either of them

but even the most basic mk1s still manage to look nice

were as some basic mk2s look minging

:yeahthat:

I do think the Mk1's are still a nice looking hatch however they are starting to look a touch dated now.

The Mk2's look so much more chunky than the Mk1's and in like for like specs the Mk2 looks far superior imo.

in my oppinion the mk1 is the most boring shape.very dull UNLESS you go for a sporting or abarth.but to be honest all puntos look dull in basic trim obv.i think the mk2s look better as they look sharper.i think the uno actualy looks more neater than the mk1 punto. anyway each to their own:) but weve moved away from the topic haha. i just dunt understand why fiat are so low down in reliability, fiat engines are one the most solid out there
