Good morning fellow Posters,

On Sunday morning at 6:30am I hit black ice on a bend on the Rhigos Mountain.

Lost control of the car and had to under steer to avoid going off the top of the mountain

the car itself then went the other way and hit a steep grassy bank.

The car lurched upwards and nearly tipped but luckily didn't. The Car then cut out and rolled backward to a stop.

After my initial life flashed before me and I had calmed down I got out to survey the pending damage.

The main front bumper has come away from the wheel arches and one of the radiator pivots has snapped off - so the Radiator has dropped but luckily has not damaged.

Also under the car at the front a metal (mudflap?) bar has snapped in two.

The car itself is drivable but any ideas what I'll need to fix this. (New Front Bumper perhaps? What's that metal bar underneath?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Car is a Punto '01 ELX MKII

Cheers,

Mark

not quite sure what i'm looking at there, neck hurts ;)

doesn't look bad, although that lowest piece of metal being bent is never good :(

not a right off by any means, fix your self if the damage ain't to strucutral stuff, add a nw bumper and some other bits of plastic <£100 and your away again (y)

its hard to see from the pics tbh, take a couple more tomorrow from a bit of distance so we can see the whole area.

If its mainly the bumper, it shouldnt be too expensive £50 at most second hand

okay will do (y)

doesn't help that my digi camera is bust!

pesky zoom on mobile is rubbish.

most of the metal work your on about underneath is just bumper suports and radiator suport underneath

it can all be easily straitened as it's thin steel you just need to remove your front bumper to see for yourself were it all needs bending to

aslong as the main chassis legs are good and the front legs that drop down from them to bolt onto the bumper support then your good for a cheap fix if the bumper you have is not actually damaged just misplaced then you could just remove and reposition it bending al the supports back into place

if you come to me ill give you a hand fixing it but it looks like your in wales lol
