my girlfriends mk2 2001 punto has speaker grills in the rear of her car but no cables. what cables would she have to run to the rear for the speakers to work? and would there be any hidding under the interior of her car? if anyone has done this could you possibly put pictures up on here.

thanks

What headunit are you using? if it has 4channel output, its quite easy.

go to the scrapyard and find a punto with the rear speakers installed. unclip the grills and unscrew the speakers, removing the connector from the back. cut off these connectors leaving about a foot of wire on them as your gonna need them. take them home and unclip the speaker grills from the car, screw in the speakers and replace the grills. attach a connector to the back of the drivers side rear speaker and connect some quality speaker cable to that. run the cable behind the carpet over the wheel arch and behind the carpet just under the tailgate (this piece of carpet just clips in and out of place with a few black plastic holders.) then bring it round up behind the passenger side wheel arch. attach thwe second connector to the passenger side rear speaker and some speaker cable to that. then run both wires behind the passenger side rear quarter trim on the 3dr or the passenger rear door sill trim on the 5dr, then under the passenger side front door sill trim. most of this trim comes off with a few screws and will then unclip with gentle persuasion. From here run the wires under the passenger side footwell carpet up into the center console where you can then wire them into the back of your headunit.
