Hi guys could anyone help me ???
My wife has a 2000 Punto 1.2 8v . For mothers day my daughter and my self brought her a cd radio for her car. As the constant nagging about the tape player was driving me nuts.

Anyway i fitted the radio last night and everything was fine i put the ISO connectors in and all worked well . I did notice that the sound from the drivers door was quieter that the passanger side. I thought this might be posibley due to the tweeters not being connected as there was another plug in the original radio with 4 wires in ( in the hand book it refers to these as cellphone connectors to the radio )
Me being a dim wit i thought they were the tweeter wires so connected them to the speaker wires .what was really wrong was the speaker in her door wasnt connected .

when my wife came to use the car diffrent warning lights started to flash.

petrol light came on with half a tank also needle dropped into the red
power steering light came on
and injector light

she pulled the car onto the drive and turned off the engine when she tried to start it again it wouldnt start then after the second attempt it started .
i disconnected the wires i had connected and the car starts fine everytime the fuel dial has gone back to normal and the powersteering light has gone off

thing is the injector light is staying on when you turn the ingnition on without starting the car the light comes on and goes off as normal but then comes on and stays on . this is the same when you start it . the car seems to be running as normal . is it because it now has an error code in the ECU that the light is staying on if so how do i sort this.

thanks in advance i hope someone can help cheers steve

think i might have read something on here that might help . ive read that the light might go off after 40 engine cycles . does this mean starting and stopping the engine. also i dont think there is anything wrong with the car just ive triggered a fault code ....any ideas

This works on a mk1, so I guess it's worth a try mate.

Use the red key to start it, let it run then switch it off.

Go back to your normal key, and the injector light shouldn't be coming on anymore, unless there is a real problem.
