hi, im having problem getting my punto into first and second gear, the others arent great either.. theres no crunching but there is everytime i go into reverse. i was told its the clutch, can anyone else confirm it?

thanks... also, how much would that cost to buy and fit, roughly?
cheers

I used to have a Panda with the same problem. I was pointed in the direction of a worn clutch plate - couldn't tell you how much it costs because I got rid of the car before fixing it.

if you have a hydraulic clutch then check the brake fluid reservoir level, a slave cylinder leak may be the cause.

if you have a cable clutch then check the cable is tensioned correctly, if it is too loose it wont fully disengage the clutch.

thanks, i thinks it hydraulic, where abouts is it located to fill?

i dont know, you still havent said which punto you have, year & engine information is useful. if you open the bonnet it should be obvious which is the brake fluid reservoir, it says what it is on the lid.

whoops sorry, punto 1.1 N reg. is it at the back on the right side?

ill check it out when i get home, cheers.
