Technical funny sound at front of car

Ive got 2 strange noises coming from my car ( 95 MK 1 Punto). Don't know whether they are related. The two noises are:

One is a strange noise coming from underneath my car. It sounds as if i've knocked my exhaust off and it's rattling away. But the sound is coming more or less from the front of my car. The noise becomes quite loud when the car is idle. When changing gears especially in lower gears it sound more as if the car going to stole. Even though it never does it's just the sound of it. Oil and coolant is fine, but sometimes theres a noise when i apply my breaks.

The noise only occurs when i'm just about to stop and not when i'm breaking to slow down. This sounds more like a scraping sound.

Any suggestions welcome

your exhaust is falling off and your brake pads are worn out; is the first thing that comes too mind.

sister had bad rattle on her exhaust turned out to be bit of heat shield comming off exhaust pipe. other thing i guess it coudl be is the catalytic converter?? think that is near front hope is not that as that can be pricey

other one sounds like could be break pads. but you can get free front break check at most big garages so wortha look
