just wondering how many mpg others are getting in your punto 1.2 8v

and how many miles you get to a full tank?

sorry if repost as am new(y)

47.4MPG after 3 days

i no this might be silly question.

will my alloys 17", make a difference to my car?

I've had all my service done lately filters, oil, right pressuses in my tyres,
(4 brand new tyres aswell) so am just working out the benefits really are the down side in my case if big alloys change mpg?

on my dash last time i checked am sure i was in the 30's but going to keep eye on it ;)

thanks (y)

I have only had my punto for two months but my 1.2 8v has never gone below 40mpg which I am well happy with! As for your tyres issue the larger the tyre the larger the size of contact patch hence more losses due to friction, not to mention the added mass of the larger tyre.

However I doubt it makes a huge difference. I`d love to see an actual experiment done to measure it though :)

get about 40mpg but my drive to work is only 2 miles so its not very economical for the car, can get about 48mpg on a run.

I managed to leave my home in london with the red fuel light flickering, I managed to travel another 80 odd miles towards portsmouth before even thinking of topping up.

the red light comes on when theres 7litres in the tank (according to the manual) so i don't thing thats too bad at all.

I've also driven mine up to nottingham and back on a single tank of fuel, and that was with 3 people in the car, 3 kayaks on the roofrack and a weekends worth of kit in the boot. thats about 400 miles if you include faffage.

40mpg on a motorway. But I do have gsr induction/40 mm tb/crich chip, 16" wheels and a very heavy sub box.

Not bad for a car that was built before Al Gore invented global warming

i manage to get average of 35MPG, but the highest i recieved from my punto was 44MPG that was when it done 1.4miles of travel...

if you notice ur MPG dropping it could be due to:

hole in the exust
loose connection on the exhust
Dirty Air Filter
Dirty engine oil
deflated tyres
Heavy Load (E.g stuffs in the boot, Alloy wheens etc..)

hope that helps

I have a 1.2 16v and I normally get about 32-36 (ish). The highest I've ever seen though was 38.9. Eco-drivin' biatch!

i have a 1.2 16v and i have had the car since saturday and it started on 28 nows its 39.2 and im reving a little to much when pulling away im not used to the pedals yet and i drive a little to fast some times but im gonna slow down and see what i get out of it.

My mpg is bad compared to everybody else's.

38 mpg is the maximum I have ever got out of mine (n) !!!!!!!!!!

maybe its the way I drive it :p ?!?!?!?!?

Dont worry you cant be doing worse than my first drive

Wheelspins accross junctions
Skiding on every break
I even managed a wheel spin in second

i did a few short wheel spins and over reving so i didnt stall but then as soon as the lights went green i stalled lol, i went out to plymouth today and stalled at a roundabout lol but who cares

i pay ruffly £40 a week in petrol ive got a punto mk1 60s i do put my foot down. i did 298miles on £30 of petrol did cruise at 75mph on motorway and 30-40mph in towns. dont know if that helps im crap at working out mpg if im honest.
