Technical accelarator cable- not smooth

when i press the accelarator pedal its not smooth feels like the cable needs greasing- anyone know how to do this?

take the cable off and then make a funnel out of insulating tape hold vertical and pop some thin oil in,leave it till oil comes out of the bottom,
or
for what it casts buy a new one.

dint think there was a cable on mk2 punto i thought it was electronic????

on the SOCH 1.2 8v engine there is a cable- what an engine!!! lol ive just realised i can look in the haynes manual i got, its got it in there :I oops
