Hi I have a punto sporting 2001/1.6v (x reg) and it recently failed its MOT on co2 emissions, I was told I needed a new Lambda sensor, which I had replaced, Before it was replaced I have had a orange/yellow "engine" symbol light lit up on the dash for over a yr (was told by garage not to worry about it ! ) and was told that when the new sensor was put on, it would cancel the warning light.... it didn't, it is still there, and worse still, the car is now running very badly, it has no "ommmphhh" and it screams when trying to give it welly, its almost as if the "sporting/GTi" in it has now gone !

A hill i used to get up, in 5th gear easily, i can only bearly get up in 2nd or 3rd ! Scary or what !!

Has anyone any ideas as why this should now be happening?

It is booked in to the garage next week, but as its not a fiat dealer, am worried they really don't know what they are doing.

Thanks

Jayne

well for one the orange light is normaly bad, its the engine management system telling you there is somethign wrong with the car.

You want to take the car somewer they can fun a digognostic find out what is really wrong, mine came up when my coil had died. but try not to drive it that much just in cases you go n f**k the engine up.
