Just a quick question, i bought an instrument cluster from ebay (with rev counter etc.) the milage on the new clocks is 26000 miles while my milage is 48000. i know i have to take the clocks to fiat and have them reset so they don't flash and they are at the correct milage but i was just wondering if i put the new clocks in now and use them for a while before getting them reset, will i need to remember the milage on my old ones and then add on any new milage that i do on the new clocks and tell fiat or when they are reset do fiat get the correct milage from the ECU.

Thanks in advance for any replys

by law you have to have the correct milage showing or by documentation,if you dont do this your commiting fraud not letting on when you come to sell car on:eek:...personaly iwould get sorted sooner than later for piece of mind...you never know whats round the corner if you know what i mean(y)

you tell them what it 'was' or 'is' and they do it

make of that what you will.

so if i use the new cluster for a few months then get it done fiat will be able 2 put it forward to the correct amount by reading the ECU, ill write down what both dials are on before i change over just to make sure.

thanks for your help

im confused now, so if i put the cluster in and then don't get it reset for a few months, what should i do. Write current milage down then add whatever i do on the new 1?

thanks for all your replys

so....

if i change the clocks now write down the milage on the old clocks. put the new clocks in and write down the milage. then when i do go to have it reset look at the milage, write it down, minus the original milage on the (new) clock, add the milage on the old clock.

that will give me the current milage, take to fiat and then get them to the milage i worked out.

correct?

sorry i know i go on abit but i just want to get it right.

Thanks

dude, its simple.

get a pen and some paper, using pen wright down numbers displayed on both clocks then either

A, pass go, drive to fiat give them the numbers and get what you pay for

or

B, do not pass go and drive with clocks as they are.

:D
