would spraying bumpers be an option ? but instead of spraying the normal black ones get ones that are color coded as they will be diferent in some way when painting lol if you get what im saying lol

any advice much appreciated (y) as i think having them done will make a big difference

get the ones that are coulor coded allready.....these differ from the bog stander ones....just spray them your coulor...just a wee tip. if poss get red ones if you can or the lightest coulor poss...this will make it easier to spray your car coulor...(y)

then just rub them down a bit then use a plastic primer on them?

as for getting the paint .. some choose halfords but might not be the best match anywhere else you can get the proper colored paint from ? :D

by using a proper plastic primer and the alreayd color coded bumpers will this eliminate any chance of the paint flaking off a few months after its done ?

anyone done this and its worked out ok :D lol?

dont paint the bumpers yourself if you dont have access the proper equipment! The colour match will most likely be pretty bad and the finish wont be up to much either!!!

Take some to a body shop or wait untill you find some in a scrappies or on ebay!

well my dad has alot of spraying equipment, hes the one that would be doing it.

i just keep checkin ebay or find a decent reasonable priced bodyshop lol

what about getting the dull black bumpers the same kind of colour as the mettalic car? or just getting the bumpers shiny? Im looking at a car at the moment and ive seen ones for the same price that seem to have 'metallic' bumpers and they look exactly the same as the car. but needs must and theres none around my area at the mo

When i bought mine it had the basic black plastic bumpers, but as i bought it from a garage they colour matched the paint and sprayed the bumpers for me.

Im assuming all they had to do was prime the bumpers and spray them, the colour was a perfect match but they didnt mask off the black sections too well, as a result the vent things at the corners of the bumpers and the edges of the black bits are a bit scrappy.

If you want them sprayed then a garage will be able to get the exact colour of your car as they will order it from fiat, but if you want a really good finish you might have to do it yourself with alot of TLC!

If you spray it yourself, you need some good quality flexible plastic primer, you car colour paint, a decent spray gun, some 1800 wet and dry paper, masking tape, newspaper, and lots of time. I tend to use about 5 coats or primer, sanding in between each coat to get a glass smooth finish, then apply about 6 coats of car colour, and still sanding in between the lower coats to keep the smooth finish, then the top 2 coats can be left without needing any sanding, then use a clear gloss laquer, to finish up with, and they will look awesome!!
