Possibly but not really worth the time and money involved...amount of work varies depending on which model punto you are talking about....e.g. an SPI model like a mk1 60 would probably need more work than a MPI model. DavetheTrike would be the best person to ask.

dont see the point in doing that mate. why bother swaping the 16v head onto an 8v block if 1, dont think they mate up anyway 2, will need the ecu from the doner car or standalone ecu 3, as Tris Harris said above ^ will cost more to insure and 4, why not just get a 16v instead. would be much easier.

because ... we are ****s that either just bought the car and want it to be faster or we love what we did to the car or we are just ****s who didnt think about buying a 16v lool :p

IIRC LanciaMad was considering doing it but decided against it in the end as you would need to change the whole wiring loom over, which is a LOT of hassle

16v Puntos are everywhere, if your car is modded then just buy a car thats the same colour (if the bodywork is modded) and swap the mods over :)

I can confirm this. They only way to do it is to use an aftermarket ecu like dta or megasquirt. (not for the faint hearted.)

iirc you will need to swap the pistons too as the 16v ones have dishes so they don't hit the valves, so abasically easier to swop the whole engine.

I think Dave tried to do batch injection from the 8v ECU but with little luck an aftermarket ECU would probably be more straight forward than Frankinloom wiring

it wont cost more to insure either if you use a proper broker and not confused or the like.

it would be treated just like a 16v if it was an 8v to 16v conversion. any insurance company worth going with would treat it as a factory 16v.

Assuming you change all the other parts like brakes etc?
