oh yeh and good luck for your test on wed m8 (y)
instructors dont tend to like males at all lol
first time i done mine the guy i got was not very nice lol done everything fine and then he tries to say i was going tooo slow comming off the bypass in the sliproad when i was doin about 35 changing into the right hand lane to go round the round about and the slip road is a 40 anyway lol

lol, thanks, i better pass i work 46miles away so 100miles a day driving to work

anyway ... constant power is directly from battery so it is always powered (interior lights, hazard lights, radio etc), radios have 2 power sources... ignition to turn it off and on when engine goes on/off and one directly to the battery to save the memory such as radio stations etc.

geeez lol yeh i think driving would make that easier lol

btw does this mean then just take one/two wires from the radio wires at back to power the wee black box, or like add then on the radio wires ?

Look at the diagram below.....

Yellow on the radio = Constant Power
Red on the radio = Ignition Power

The Cig Lighter is on the ignition power, notice how it doesn't work when ignition is off.

You can just cut the yellow wire and connect those 3 together, well thats what ive done

right lol

have you managed to do it though so you still have a constant power for your radio so it will still have your presets and time set or you not too bothered about that?

sorry again just dont want to mess anything up ..
and dissconecting the battery while doing this is a must?

basically you are making that cable a 3 way split

I would recommend disconnecting the battery, i didnt i just removed the fuse on that wire but yea disconnect the battery i would

thnks
getting the idea now lol sorry for all the questions must be hating me by now lol

i deff defff deffff have to do mines at the w.e :D cannot wait to have remote central locking easily beats having to wait for your passengers to get out and then push down lock on the other dooor and in my case most time got a full car of my m8s so takes a min or two for them all to get out lol

wherabouts do you put the earthing point btw ? just noticed tht when looking at the cables there

Not a problem, im just delaying the time i goto bed ... as the sooner i get to bed the sooner ive got work, although im getting a pay rise tomorrow :)

and yes i know what u mean about the locks, i played with mine for 30mins and love it lol ... except when i use the key on the drivers side it doesnt do nething to the passenger side, but why would i need to use the key ive got a remote :D lol

alright for some lol i need to get a job so can save up for new stuff for my car :D first things going to be new bumpers or alloys ..

your way of wiring it up and powering it seems alot easier than other ways been told ..

usually get told to wire into the fusebox so can have your lights flash when press the remote
does your lights flash when you press the remote?

but looking at cables ive got dont think the kit i have would allow such a thing as all the cables will be gettin used by the motors and then that single red for the power and then just a black for the earthing point

where is it you done your earthing btw?

Yea, 6months and already been promised promotion in october (roll on £32k aged 20) :)

anyway, no I dont get flashing lights tbh i aint that bothered about it

u can just connect the ground to any bolt on the car, i wired mine upto the radio ground tho, same way just the black wire

 jammmy lol

yeh i think whole fact got the doors to lock by remote is a big enough upgrade lol :D

thnks alot btw (y) cleared up about every step of fitting it some guy lol
ohwell have fun at work 2morow
and gd luck for your test sure youll do fine

you can get a constant from the Fusebox inside the car, its the thick red and white wire on the fusebox, just peal back a little bit of the insulation in that wire and add in the wire you have from the central locking, then make sure to tape it up good.,

i have a questin about what shape the metal rod should be bent if my actuator is in the same position as in the guide. oh and also does your rod go behind the black thing brophy was talking about(bit that supports the handle cable) or did you put it between it and the door?(the small gap) im asking as i have bent mine a certain way and whenever i lock the doors they unlock again automatically afterwards.

I didnt bend mine at all (except like 1cm at the end near the lock near the window)

Small Gap

im asking as i have bent mine a certain way and whenever i lock the doors they unlock again automatically afterwards
Could be your cabling, although if you dont have the right tension on the rod i guess it would open itself

Heres a quick diagram, i love paint :)
