hey ppl i got a 1.1 55 mk1 punto just wondering if its worth buyin an induction kit or air filter or nefing like tha? and what exactly does it do? Thanks

On a standard 1.1 will just give it a deeper engine sound. It is basically a very popular cheap and easy mod. (y)

You could buy a KN box filter, or some simmilar one, its cheap, abbout 15-20 upto 100 quid
Dont buy KN mushroom one, but one that replace your exiting one

Generally, anything bellow 150eur sucks, you wont gain anything but a filter that you can just clean, not renew every time, more air to the engine, and better sound, but no extra power etc...
Try KN website or ebay etc..

So for that money, buy any you like, but go for a box one, not cone or mushroom look one, or buy whole intake system, like GSR that is most used by this forum members, do a little search (y)

When you say a 'box one' I take it you are talking about a panel filter? A panel filter won't give much noise and unless you are going for mega engine modifications which I take it you aren't you probably want something with a nice noise ie. pipercross.

The gsr kit gives the best noise imp anyway and the most proven performance so it's a no brainer, they are worth the money.

Yeah I ment panel one...I was sure it makes A noise cause engine breathes better...

And he did ask for 20-30 quid category :D

And I dont like that no one tried anything else but GSR and Peconi so we can compare, not saying they dont worth the money, I'm sure they worth every peny, just havent seen neither one (y)

I think quite a few owners have gone for pipercross/KN etc but decided to switch to GSR later on, but yes I agree I'd like to see how a few different kits compare

Plus I would like to hear abbout a third, fourth make, are there any other makes for Punto?

I agree KN sucks when mushroom like, but panel ones should be OK, but off course its not a kit, just a filter

I've heard good things about BMC CDA kits.

The BMC DIA is better than the CDA. Unfortunately BMC does not make real kits. They throw K&N style the bits and bops together.

I have been approached by Eurostyling (impoerter of BMC) a few times to design sislicone piping around the CDA, but it never took of as the bespoke hoses cost about as much as the CDA itself. With a properly designed twincone filter that costs only £20 the results are evenly good (unless a closed unit is needed) or in many cases actually flowing better.

The CDA can be improved but needs internal reworking, which brings cost up even further.

I am open and always was open to testing competitors products as a comparison with our own. So far none of the competitors products (except bespoke race induction kits at several times the price) has come close to it.

Nobody is perfect.:D

Wasn't pointed at you. Wanted people to let them know that they can challenge me at any given time.

And I just would like to see someone come up with something better that ~I can do less work.;)

haha you've found me out ;)

I don't think there are any other companies that are bothered by anything other than sales and bullsh*t
