how hard is it to fit the 1.2 mpi into a punto mk1 wich had the 1.1 spi

and would anything have to get swaped over thanks

You can keep your ECU, locks and keys. Just the engine that needs to be replaced IIRC

You'd need to splice some wires to the ECU to keep your original one.
As for swapping over...the head, camshaft, injector rail, probably the TB, exhaust manifold to make it worthwhile...and probably some thing's I've forgotten....it should all be listed if ya do a search...or DavetheTrike will be able to tell you I think.

Easiest way is the whole engine and splice the injector feed to the ecu.
Or put the mpi head on the spi 55...now theres a though...

don't do it! I did, was chaos, and th 75 ecu is unstable IMO. randomly just locked up with code lights and random injection failures
no it wasn't my wiring, I used the entire engine loom and box's from the correct series

It is even easier to use the 75 loom that plugs atraight into the connector that goes to the interior part of the loom. No splicing needed - only connecting.

ok thanks guys i was only thinking of geting the mpi engines cos i thought it would be stright forward swap like the 1.1 with a 1.2 spi so its a little harder with a few more injectors then well i need a new engine cos my other 1 died on the m6 the other day so i thought if i need a new 1 why not get a faster 1 but nothing big like a 1.6 sporting or gt

well i would have everything for the conversion as i wil have the whole car cos im buying it from a salvages place with backend damage for 100 quid so everything will be there

so its easyier to put a 1.2 8v spi in instead cos its less hastle
