Hi, I own an 03 1.2 8v punto, and I have been having trouble with a leaking clutch housing after getting a new clutch fitted. problem is I ve now been told the gearbox seal is leaking into the clutch housing and that you cant get a replacement seal you have to get a new gearbox. Is this correct?

Thanks
Davy:(

what a load of rubish
i hate dealers that lie thou there front teath

the seal is fit from the inside of the box but it is the easiest box in the world to strip and rebuild ever so wont take long

it should take no longer than 2 hours to do it start to finish box in and out the car also strip down and rebuild is half an hour tops

might aswell have both drive shaft seals replaced also and the rest of the box is sealed with 0 gap sealer

the seal is most definitely available from fiat along with every other part of your gearbox that's for sure

the 541 box features in many fiat cars these days so why would it not be

when the clutch went did it start to slip causing allot of heat hence the seal failure

if the dealer you are using does not want to strip the box they obviously don't know how or there just being lazy so i would go find another fiat garage to do it

most dealers have someone that has been trained buy fiat to strip these box's

intact if you spend long enough in a fiat garage you all learn soon

i know in great detail how to do it
