hi everyone

i was just wondering has anyone one has had problems when ordering a steering rack through fiat.
i have been waiting for a steering rack from fiat for my fiat punto mark 2 facelift car but when the part is shipped from italy to the dealer it is always a left hand drive steering rack instead of a right and drive. of course this is no use to me and im not in the best of moods with fiat as this is the FOURTH time it has happened in two weeks.

im just wondering if any one else is experiencing the same problems becasue i have rang up the dealer to day and they said that in the UK fiat are shipping the wrong steering rack to all the Fiat UK dealers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't heard of that one, may be worth trying a different fiat dealer. I would have though that the LHD and RHD racks would have different part numbers so shouldn't be that hard to mess up!

Why do you want a left-hand-drive rack?

If you have a LHD car, you have to tell the dealer.

Whatever-hand drive it is, the dealer should be able to work out the part number you need if you tell them the chassis number.

its not the dealer's fault they are ordering the bit through fiat in italy.
everytime fiat are delivering the steering rack it is for a left hand drive car i need a right hand drive steering rack. the problem lies with fiat and there packaging the item wrong and shipping it over to the UK. other dealerships in the UK are expericeing this problem.

it's a labelling issue with parts bins in itally if you order right hand drive you get left if you order left hand drive you get right tell your dealer to try it

Yeah... I got a left hand wiper arm once.. but they quickly sorted that one.


Try the LHD one and hope they haven't swapped the labels round already.

i had the same thing once with a Volvo part head light coming left hand instead of right hand

also when programming keys to an alfa i had the message saying programming incomplete

after a quick call to mangoletsis this actually means complete

and complete means incomplete weird
