mk1 punto, was it a recall? just noticed that the new punto i got has got it, my other one is ok though.

Wasn't a recall, but i've heard that fiat make their sumps out of recycled metal [:0]!!!

Mine corroded completely and i lost a full tank of oil in 5 mins, replaced the sump though, just need to redo the sealant as its leaking a bti from the edges.

Mine had an oil leak from the sump seal when I first bought it, which I fixed straight away - but the coating of oil seems to have done an excellent job of rustproofing the sump!

Rusty sumps are common to Fiat/Lancia's/Alfas.
