Hi,

any ideas about the cause of wet driver footwell? There is significant amount of water on the floor, but other surfaces are dry. It seems to me that it only happens when the road is wet, regardless of raining. Thanks.:bang:

Hole in the floor maybe? Rubber bung missing? Un-grommetted none standard hole or holes drilled in lower bulkhead for wiring maybe? Lower door seals u/s? Roof gutter drain holes blocked? Windscreen drain route blocked?

Be systematic, methodical, find it by elimination and a hose-pipe.

Good Luck.

Is there any water in the rear footwell?

There is not any water in the rear footwell!

Remove front seats and carpets / soundproofing, dry the floor thoroughly.
Sprinkle talcum powder under the dash on the floor / bulkhead area then get to work with a hose from ground level at first, working methodically up and checking the talcum for telltale water trails, with luck the trails will lead you back to the source of the leak.

Thanks a lot, this is a great help.
Could you tell me exactly where those holes in the floor are? Are they on the horizontal part of the floor, or closer to pedals?

Its difficult to be specific, but in cars I have owned holes have been in the flat pan section, with a rubber bung in them. These are visible from underneath, but if you take out the seats / carpets etc they should be visible if fitted, may be painted over. If that fails, try the talcum test I also posted.
